Warranty Fraud Alert

Feb 06, 2004 1 Replies

Hi

I had purchased a after market warranty for my Nissan Altima from Platinum Warranty Corporation. (http://www,warrantywizard.com) But itseems these guys are a bunch of jokers. They don't even know what theymean when they say The offer car warranty. My First claim was out-right rejected saying its a pre-existing condition. I have driven my car of 3000 miles after taking the warranty. They way they talked to me and did business with me was also very rude. I have all the maintainence records for my car which show that an inspection of the now-troubled parts were inspected and were in good working condition.

I am trying to cancel my warranty and get back my money, but I am not sure how long it will take and if at all I will get my money ( more than a 1000$ for a 3 year / 36,000 miles warranty)

I would also Like to know if there is something I can do about these guys legally ? Can I report them to the Federal Trade Commision ort somewhere else.

Pelase Advice....

Thanks

Never, ever, EVER, buy 3rd party insurance.

If you buy a Nissan, you can consider buying an extended warranty from Nissan. Otherwise, forget it.
