1998 toyota corolla won't start, ran fine, crashed LIGHTLY, drove home, shut off, now no start

as the description states, i got in a very light front end collision to the pass. front, drove it home (just bent the core support a little and broke the headlight, and messed up the hood/bumper a little), and shut it off, afterwards, it will no longer start, turn the key to on, and all the lights and whatnot work, but turn it to start and it does nothing. i jumped the starter relay, and it turns over fine so i'm thinking it's something security system related? the only thing i could see it affecting is a small sensor (air bag sensor maybe?) thats right behind the pass. headlight. any ideas on the problem or how to fix it?

A bent core support means frame damage...

Check the battery ground and main cable to the starter. The most likely cause is a lose or disconnected ground somewhere.

A damaged air bag sensor should not keep the car from starting and in any event, it would illuminate an air bag warning light.

as stated, the car turns over fine if i jump the starter relay.

Is the security system factory or aftermarket?

When you say the car won't start, do you mean that the starter will not engage with the key or do you mean that the car turns over but won't catch>

I still think you have a loose ground somewhere. Look in the damager area for a loosened bolt or broken wire.

factory security system, when you turn the key to "start" it does NOTHING. BUT if i jump the starter RELAY, it Turns over just fine, so the starter itself is fine, it's either the security system or wiring.

OP doesn't state AT or MT. The Clutch Relay, which is located in that area sure would...

Good point! Also neutral safety switch on an AT. I think it is a loose ground somewhere.

played with again today, crank sensor is just peachy. again an overview of the problem:

ran fine, got in a very light crash, parked at a gas station, exchanged insurance info, it fired right up, drove home, then it wouldn't start anymore. it doesn't even crank when you turn the key to start, it does nothing.

IF i jump the starter relay under the hood, it turns over, but it has no gas and no spark, so i am thinking maybe an alarm related issue? when the key is "on" radio works fine, heater controls work, etc... it has the vip rs3000 security system (toyota), please help if you have any idea's guys, i really need the car to drive tomorrow.

and it's an automatic.

Did you try to start it with the gear selector in neutral? (or only in park?)

No silver bullet. Check alarm's starter cutoff relay.
