Where are you and who's the dealer? I get my parts from Jaffarian's in Haverhill and they will match on-line prices from other on-line dealers.
Go to Autozone, click SHOP and punch in the info for one van, then click manage my vehicles and punch in the info for the other. Then look up brake pads for one, and then the other and see if the numbers match.
1) Yes, that sounds about right, including labor. The minuses of having the catalytic converter replaced by a non-dealer is that the cat may not last as long and they may have to cut and patch the pipes to fit. 2) Follow hachiroku's advice for determining whether the pads and rotors from your Previa will fit the Sienna, but I doubt if they will fit.
You should first make sure the engine is properly tuned (plugs, valve clearances, timing belt etc), that there are no air leaks upstream of sensors, no vacuum leaks, and that oxygen sensors are working. IMO Denso sensors are real junk. Just read Toyota TSBs.
Since I've fixed a P0420 (catalytic converter efficiency below threshold) by making sure of all above and just changed out the junk Denso sensors with Bosch planar ones, I think you should test the car some more. Can save you bundles.
