Less moisture type chemical rug shampoo

Will steam cleaning set some stains?

The non-steam type remove more dirt?

Can the non-steam type shampoo be used on cloth upholstery?

I'm interested in using the non-excessively wet process so things dry faster.

Thanks

I'm no Martha Stewart, but I would not bother with steam cleaning a car's carpet. A non steam type shampoo can be used on cloth upholstery with good results. If it is not too dirty, try Simple Green - the stuff takes works very well, or use a home carpet shampooer.

Thanks, Ray. I've got some nasty coffee stains when I stopped abruptly and didn't hold onto my cup. The cup holder has quag in it and that's difficult to remove too.

Bought time you showed up somewhere. I was going to give you a shout out if you didn't appear today!

Um, what kind of a machine are you using, or contemplating using? Is it one of those supermarket rentals?

What kind of a stain are you trying to remove? How long has it been there?

Believe it or not, I use a Bissel Green Machine with the Bissel Scotch Guard stuff, and get excellent results. (Of course, I also gave my Supra a shot with a real extraction machine, too... ;) But I did use the Bissel first.

Gimme some particulars and I can give you a little more help.

Or, take it to Elron's Detailing, Noho, the North end of Rt 5 right next to the State Police barracks. Tell him Johnny B sent you. That and $2.50 will get you a cup of coffee, but he'll treat you right.

And you won't BELIEVE how clean your car can get!

You know, there's that car wash place that's been around for years, right off I-91 in Springfield across from Antonio's grinders at the bottom of Long Hill street. It exits off by Baystate Plumbing. That place seems always busy. Are you familiar with them? What they charge?

Hmmmm...never heard anything about them.

Of course, I do my own detailing... I know Elron cause I used to help him out when he got busy. He was charging $130, inside and out, extraction, light scratch removal (buffing is extra), wax with good wax, etc. And there's no time limit. Satisfaction is guaranteed. If it takes him 6 hours to do your car, then he spends 6 hours on it. Very nice guy to boot. (Actually, Elron's name is Lenny...Elron is a joke from his brother in law...)

Mark,

I know from first hand experience that Simple Green works very well on black coffee stains!
