Matrix 2007 145,000 km manual trans.
The car stalled after a 3-km run. It will re-start then die within one second. When running, a loud knocking or clanking sound (similar to a broken con rod) comes from the top rear of the engine (that is, the driver's side). It seems to be coming from the head rather than the block.
I would welcome your thoughts on how to proceed with making a diagnosis.
