OT - Bulgaria nationalizes its gas fields

So I am wondering what else can go wrong while Bush is in the White House. I'm thinking we are due for an invasion by Martians. And they probably carry the bird flue virus. And they thrive on nuclear radiation and use radioactive isotopes as good luck charms.

I don't know what else can happen, but I know whatever it is you will blame Bush.

If the Martians attack Earth it will indeed be Bush's fault. As you should be aware, Bush announced his intention for a manned mission to mars. He did that without any diplomatic relations with the Martians whatsoever. They naturally would view us as occupiers and their attack would be a reasonable reaction from their point of view.

How can you say that? Don't you know that we are the original Martians? When we used up all the natural resources of Mars our ancestors started looking for another place to send us. Earth was the most likely destination so they dropped off a young couple to restart the population. Every so often some of those who stayed behind come back to check on our progress and give us some assistance with technology.

Since GWB is President he knows these secrets and wants to re-establish good will with Mars again and that is why we are returning to say Thank You to them. Not only that, he knows they are low on resources so he's willing to share some of what is on Earth for their needs. You've heard of One World -- we call this One Solar System.

Despite what you think, GWB is a compassionate conservative and has demonstrated that numerous times by opening up the treasury to projects most people would be to selfish to consider. It's time for you to look at him in a different light.

The media has it in for GWB ever since he trumped their favorite boy, Gore. So they retaliate by putting a negative spin on all news. After while this negative spin eventually wears people down. The cure is to stop watching TV news. Back in WWII there was never a negative spin on the war. Everything was roses and when we had a bad time of it in a particular battle the media always made the enemy the really bad guys, never us. Today it's just the opposite. I have some of the newspapers from WWII and many articles my grandparents saved and it's quite a stark contrast from todays news.

If the press was really after bush, they'd be reporting what's *really* happening in Iraq and Afghanistan. It's easy to make talking pictures now-a-days. Of course there's nothing like pining for wars past. Dismembered bodies, the smell of burning flesh, desecrated landscape. Yes-sir, gimme some of that!

Now you are being completely ridiculous. It is common knowledge that the first 2 martians which were dropped off on earth to become earthlings were dropped off near Iraq and that is near where mankind got its start on Earth. Our return to Mars would mirror the US return to Iraq. We would indeed be viewed as occupiers on Mars just as in Iraq.

We know who the bad guys are. There is no argument over that. The issue is Bush's execution of war strategy. He has created another Vietnam situation by not putting enuf boots on the ground. Something has got to change. Unfortuantely, as one comic noted last week, Bush believes on Wednesday exactly what he believed on Monday notwithstanding what happened on Tuesday.

That and invading the wrong country.

only about 1 percent of area in Iraq is trouble, but the media makes it look like it's total mess.

I would like to see us get the hell out soon though. Let those poor folks blow each other up if they so choose and Iran take over. It will make oil go even higher, but don't bother me because I don't drive that much anymore.

Cheers

Perhaps so, but you must consider the view of Earth we would have. We could colonize Mars again and sell condominiums for outrageous properties that the rich would buy up immediately. The cost involved in going to Mars would be recuperated through the checkbooks of Dick Cheney VII and GWB XII. You ought to like that.

I can see where you get your political information.

If by 1 percent you mean 1 percent of the population are troublemakers, I might agree with you. Unfortunately they are causing problems in more than half of Iraq.

Bolivia, Bulgaria, Mars... What's the difference? We're going to take them all over anyway.

Frankly, I didn't much care if it was bolivia or bulgaria. Hey those folks have to eat too and we are the bread basket of the world. Like the folks in the middle east, all that sand don't make a good meal. We got so much food over here we're starting to burn it in our cars.
