OT: Sorry bout the OT's.. CHINA

You give him too much credit. The "ass" part is just natural talent but the "smart" is not something he has achieved yet.

I'm not sure that's true. China knows the world is smaller and better informed, they are realists and understand the old way of doing business is out the door.

And yet they can literally shut down internet access across their entire country, often with the help of companies like Yahoo.

But they haven't.

This is one of the VERY few issues that I agree with Joe on: ANY company that co-operates in denying FULL internet access to someone should be blacklisted and penalized in Canada and the U.S.A.. If any company turns subscriber information over to barbarian despots, aka as Communist China, their officers should be tried in U.S. courts and subject to the SAME sentence and treatment that the people in China received after they were outted by companies such as Yahoo.

YES THEY HAVE. They have been complicit with the Chinese govt. in blocking out huge chunks of the net.

that will happen here too when the dims in power start taxing the internet effectively shutting down parts of the internet unless you pay your tax.

Or the next embodiment of the so-called "fairness doctrine" is legislated.
