OT: Traditonal Values Restored

You don't really teach kids, do you?

No one is pro abortion....but many are for killing unborn kids?

Yes, for 35 years. Deal with it.

You really don't get the nuance of the difference between the two. Or else are being obtuse on purpose.

No, many are _not_ *for* "killing unborn kids" - it is sometimes the only choice they feel they have left - & the wiser choice Vs. the alternatives. They don't *want* an abortion - I can't imagine anyone in their right mind

*wanting* such a traumatic thing; it is reserved for situations which are too bleak to contemplate the alternatives. And since those situations are rare compared w/successful & healthy pregnancies that occur in reasonable (or even ideal) situations... in the majority of cases, a person who is pro-choice never utilizes the choice of an abortion.

No, monkey head. I read. I read more in a week than you've read in your entire lifetime.

Do you think everyone should have a liver transplant? If not, why not?

Bingo!

Notice how the puss wad has yet to answer the question which ***HE*** created.

Hate to state the obvious, but liberals are also hypocrycital, too.

Then there are the people that claim to be Christian but don't believe the Bible or what Jesus said. That's an oxymoron if ever there was one.

Christianity is what one makes of it. I know people who claim to be "Christian" and mouth all the right phrases about "personal savior," etc, but are entirely at ease with killing people. Go figure.

Yes, thanks to President Clinton.

Right. Teens never heard of this idea until Bill Clinton came along.

What a complete idiot you are.

Sure they heard of it, but it wasn't until President Clinton got caught and redefined the meaning of the word "sex" that it has become "not sex" these days.

I'm going to need to see your interview data and clinical work before your theory will fly.

You don't have to, it's called "Common Sense" and you too could get some if you would stop being so closed-minded.

No. It's you throwing shit a the wall and hoping something will stick. Is this why your wife never speaks to you?

Referring to the most immediate subject (Clinton's damaging effect on the values of teenagers), what would you like me to offer? As I'm sure you're aware, that nonsensical theory originated with radio loony Michael Savage, the guy who also said any woman who'd wear a thong was a filthy pig. So, this Clinton thing was designed to filter down to the simpleminded. It worked. Golf boy is repeating it.

Clinton had nothing to do with it. Teens think it's not sex because they don't get taught that it is sex and the first guy that really puts the pressure on a girl for oral sex tells her, "hey, baby, it's not 'sex,'" and she accepts this because a) she's under a lot of pressure here and, in order to keep this trophy asshole, she has to come across and b) must rationalize the activity in light of her "just say no" pledge and c) probably doesn't know any better. And the guy in question knows that a) if this ploy works, he's about to have an orgasm and b) if it really is sex, he doesn't know or care one way or the other, really, because he's c) about to have an orgasm and d) going to use this line on other chicks.

Do you know any actual teens? How many of them do you think could pick Bill Clinton out of a police lineup?(*) The teens that actually know anything about Bill Clinton and his extra-marital affairs know that Bill was lying to save his ass from Hilary.(**) Heck, maybe they've seen the adults around their house lying about extra-marital affairs.

Get a clue. Kids get their ideas from each other and from trashy television programs developed by TV execs who are shovelling cash to guys who are promising to cut the top rate on taxes. And from Paris Hilton and Nicole Ritchie (I almost forgot them). Britney Spears eschewing underwear isn't going to help the situation, either.

We have trouble with kids and oral and all the other kinds of sex because we have a lot of two-income families and a lot of teens left to their own devices because Mom or Dad (no need to be sexist about this) is not home afternoons at the trophy house because that trophy house is so damned important that they both have to work to support it - and the Beemer and the Suburban and the cell phone and the cable bill and the trips to Disneyworld to reconnect with the kids they are ignoring and trips to the Bahamas to decompress, etc, etc, and, believe it or not, a whole lot of those Beemers and Suburbans said "W 04" on them.(***)

(*) which is probably where you think Bill Clinton should be. I hope that word picture brightens your day. Merry Christmas. :-)

(**) and I'll bet, once the Secret Service realized what was going on, they removed all the sharp knives from the White House kitchen.

(***) and my wife gave up a promising career primarily for reasons like this and to do things like be a Girl Scout leader (three troops, over the years and every one of the girls in those troops who stuck it out to age 16 or older earned the Gold Award) and other volunteer work (like lead catechism classes) and now works part time so that the last remaining teen at home comes home afternoons to a small but not dangerously empty house but the part-time job means we can still afford to help the kids significantly with college costs (to the tune of somewhat over $80K, cash, over the last 6 years, and not done yet, we'll be pushing $120K in tuition assistance before we're done). This reflects our "liberal" values; I suppose we can only thank God, Jerry Fallwell and George W. Bush that "traditional" values have been successfully restored.

I've been telling you for a while that you are much closer to a conservative than you realize. These are traditional values that America upheld before the "Me" generation came into being around the late 60's.

Those values never went away. You're repeating a sales pitch aimed at you by people who needed your support. Most likely politicians and a clergyman or two. Learn to think for yourself.

Today's teens were little kids - say 6 - 10 years old - when Clinton said that he had "not had sex with that woman". You think they knew all about the background of that statement then & took it to heart, saving it up for their teen years? Personally, I kinda doubt it. Whatever the reason(s) current teens don't consider oral sex to be (real) sex, I don't think it rides on that little piece of history.
