We connected the dots by invading Iraq. Al-Qaeda had no significant tie to Iraq but is now nicely entrenched there and helping insurgents figure out how to kill our people - and the Iraqi people besides.

The idea that we can't guarantee that a certain set of dots will never connect is a legitimate cause for war is entirely illogical. We can't guarantee that Tony Blair will never aid Al-Qaeda. You mght as well invade Britain.

In fact, the war has almost certainly radicalized some of Britain's Muslims. Go for it. Connect the dots there, too.
