Re: Media Backlash against NBC

If ANYBODY thinks the terrorists are missing this.....they would be wrong.

We can expect this kind of thing to pick up.

Question is.....are we willing to do what is necessary to defeat terrorism?

All of the members of the university will get over it. My best friend in college.... my best man at my wedding.... committed suicide about 25 years ago. I got over it. All of our roommates got over it. I guarantee you his parents and sister never will.

I'm not minimizing the family's (families') pain. That's a given. I was merely arguing the point that the others at the university will need time to heal. The other (previous) posts seemed to argue that the survivors within the university community can basically be ignored - no need to worry about them. For the people who lived through it, but witnessed/experienced it firsthand - were in the involved classrooms - some of them may never get over it either, is my guess. How can one experience that much violence & hatred - with people dying around you, yet be emotionally just fine, & not need any post-experience care?

Healing *is* getting over it.

Apparently you're getting up to do something when the 24 hour news service announces good bye and 5 minutes latter says hello. It's either that or they hypnotized you and you're in a trance.

When I count to three........

This is about the time students all around the country are facing finals and contemplating suicide. How they do it is a matter of personal preference. So, once again, shit happens.

And if counting to three doesn't work, think a phrase from a song from a long time ago; When you can't be, with the one you love, Honey, love the one you're with.

You're a smart cookie. You'll figure it out.
