Re: nitrogen in tires

I was personally present when a poor sap came into Shore Toyota, dealer in McKee City, NJ on route#322 (Black Horse Pike) and the malfunctioning system to monitor tire pressure with a dashboard light with low pressure events was giving trouble. They claimed the tires were losing pressure and sold the imbicile "nitrogen" in the tires for over $70... air is 80+% nitrogen!! Don't go to that dealership!! Other Toyota dealerships are great and don't try to use the "wallet vac" on you...

last time I was there Costco charges $1.00/tire to change it. As it is (supposedly) the Oxygen molecules that leak, about 20% of 32 PSI is 6 lbs possible underinflation? Ron
