You're not qualified to know.


If anything, if the private mortgage business had been more like the federal agencies, the problem wouldn't have gotten so bad, and one way we know this is by comparing the lower default rate of Freddie and Fannie mortgages vs. the higher default rate for private mortgages. And don't ignore the lack of federal regulation of mortgage derivatives.
