  1. It's not an "article", it's an opinion editorial, and identified as such.
  2. The piece slavishly trumpets Medicare as a "success" without noting that its inception in 1965 precisely marks the point at which medical costs began to far outpace general inflation. The author claims that Medicare is now "popular" using only its "43 million beneficiaries" as proof of said popularity - well of course something is going to appear popular when the only alternative is to pay the same taxes and get nothing in return!
  3. The statement: "Whenever you hear a candidate denounce something as a step toward socialized medicine, it probably isn?t" is just a flat out lie.
