I have some scratches on Titanium silver metallic paint (not deep, but clearly visible) resulting from using the wrong side of a dishwashing sponge
If any of you have a strong recommendation for a particular brand of rubbing compound, I'd greatly appreciate it.

My son's new black Corolla had a bunch of scratches from an XM antenna. We got them all out with Meguiars 3 step process.
Why did u have a dishwashing sponge near your camry in the first place---the car is not a dish?
Meguiars Scratch-X will probably work for you. Do it by hand and only a very small spot first to make sure you like the results. Whatever you do don't get too agressive at first, leave that to the pro's.
