Temperature of Matrix A/C?

What should the air temp be exiting from a 04 Matrix louvers on full cold?...the tech tells me that it should be 20 deg F lower than outside when using 'outside air'. We find that it's not cool enough on a warm day unless we use 'recirc'.

Warm day =+28C or ~83F

The matrix is well-known for having weak A/C. I drove for an hour today in

95 degree heat and I never turned the blower off of maximum. The car never really got what you would call cool.

The 30 degree figure is valid for central air but not a car AC unit. It is more like 35 to 50 degrees F or so depending on humidity and volume of air going through it. The more humid the air snd/or the more of it, the less the tempature drop. I rarely use recirculate on my cars and I can get cool air in the upper 40?s to upper 50?s (depending on blower speed and humidity) when it is in the mid 90?s with my three vehicals using outside air. Also bear in mind that A/C will not reach maximum cooling at a idle or at low speeds.

Were you using 'recirc' or 'outside' air?

Thanks all...much appreciated...these findings agree with mine too...my 2000 Corolla is a helluva lot cooler than my wife's 04 Matrix...

Outside- I never recirc because I really want fresh air. It would have to get unbelievably hot before I turn off the fresh air.
