Had a chat with the dealer today, and the rust spot is covered by warranty . ('02 with 26k kms) The rust appeared at the left end of the chrome trim over the rear licence plate. Advisor said they would remove the trim, paint the whole trunk (boot?) lid, and replace the trim with a new part. He seemed aware of the problem, and booked the car into the body shop for next week,
