My cousin has a 2001 Camry CE (4 cyl stick shift) with 15x6 inch stock rims. The car came with P205 65 R15 92H tires. I would like to upgrade him to 215/60/15 tires which are 10mm wider. According to tire calculators on the net the diameter changes are within the recommended up to 3% change. My concern is the possibility of rubbing against the stock shock absorbers on the back. There is a 12mm clearance between the 205/65/15 stock tire and the shock absorber. As I see it the new tire will take up only 5mm of this clearance.
1) Will it rub the shock absorber 2) Is there something I have overlookedPS: According to tire calculators on the net the new tires will be
4.32mm less tall and 10mm wider ( 5mm on each side )Thanks everyone and Happy Thanksgiving
