2003 Carmy Paint Job

What can I do if the paint on my 2003 White Camry LE isn't any good? I have never had a car that has chipped like this one has and the knicks are not small. I'm tired of touching it up on my own and making it obvious that it was touched up. I also have found paint "peeling" in a couple of spots. I have asked the Dealership about it a couple of times, and the guy in the garage says he will ask the manager about it and get back to me. He never gets back to me. The car will soon be two years old. It's very frustrating. The paint has been chipping since day one.

Don't ask them about it. Go to the dealer and TELL them you want to file a warranty claim for the peeling paint. Don't ask them about it. You may not get relief from the chipping paint, since that is common these days with the new environmentally friendly paint process meets a flying rock. But they should fix the peeling paint.

IF they don't comply, read the google group archives for pursuing remedies from Toyota Motor or your dealer.

You should have complained to Toyota from day one. Do so

---------- Dealership . . . never gets back to me.

---------- You can go to any Toyota dealership for warranty service. Perhaps if you find one that includes a body shop, they'll be more cooperative. Sounds like your car - or at least sections, need to be re painted. Could be the only way to get it all to match would be to re paint all. There is a wide variability in the quality of paint jobs, primarily related to how thoruoghly the prep work is done - removal of trim vs. masking.

White is *real* easy! Almost any white formulation will match right in. But, the OP should go back to the dealer. When was the first time She (he?) made a complaint? Also, ring up Customer Care and bitch to them a little!

And when you go to get it painted, tell them to throw in a little lead with it! EPA approved paint sucks. My 76 Grand Marquis has the original (egg yolk yellow) coat, and doesn't show one hint of peeling or chipping. You could set the hood on fire and it would still buff out!
