87 camry 4 cylinder 125k miles hesitates, splutters, almost kills when idling in Drive, or just starting to accelerate

Dear group members, I am the owner of an 87 camry with 125k miles. It had been working fine till this past summer when it started having problems. I had a tune up done on it (new plugs, wires, etc.). I've also had the fuel injection cleaned out Despite this, it still hesitates and almost dies while idling in drive. It happens when it is dry or damp out, but it seems to be slightly more common in damper conditions. So basically what happens is that in drive, while idling, it flutters in terms of its rpms. Normally it idles at ca. 700 I think. But while idling sometimes it'll dip in spurts down to 500 or a little below; it feels like it's on the verge of killing. It has killed in the past while just starting to accelerate, but furtunately has not done that for a while (since I had the fuel injection area cleaned out). As stated, it also hesitates or flutters in its rpms while just starting to accelerate. I have to accelerate very slowly because otherwise it feels like it will kill. Once I'm going at a normal speed it seems to drive just fine, though I have avoided any long drives. So any suggestions. Some friends, relatives have suggested the transmission, others the electrical systems, or valves having to do with fuel. Anything that could give a mechanic a headstart would be greatly appreciated!
