AC and electrical system 90 camry

Hello: I had the distributor replaced (including ignition coil) in my 1990 toyota camry (manual transmission). Since that, I noticed that the car lost power. When I start the car the rpms go from around 1300 to around 700 by the time the car warms up (which is normal). But if I start the car with the air conditioning on the initial rpms drops to 700 and after that the car is usually under 500 rpms when it is idle (all of this with the AC on, if I turn off the AC everything goes back to normal). Any ideas on what may be happening?

Double check the ignition timing - follow correct procedure to isolate computer first.

Under normal operation the idle should go up with the ac on. Older cars used an idle up solenoid to manually open the throttle. I'm not sure about a 90 model. It would indicate to me either the solenoid or the ECU.

Look for a smallish diaphragm (about 1 1/2" diameter) with a thumbwheel adjuster on it and a vacuum hose coming off it, threaded into the plenum chamber portion of the intake manifold. This air bleed adjusts the "idle up" when the A/C is turned ON. Now ... there is a vacuum cut solenoid that controls this diaphragm. Either can be kablooie. The diaphragm gets vacuum when the A/C compressor cycles ON.
