Crazy Lights

Jan 05, 2005 1 Replies

I just purchased a 2005 Camry. I leave the headlight setting on auto. When parking the car I apply the parking brake, place the tranny in park and turn off the ignition. Sometimes the lights go off as soon as I remove the key. Other times they stay on for a short time. I am careful to follow the same sequence of brake, tranny then key each time. While it's no big deal I'm curious as to why the lights do not react the same way each time. Would it possibly have anything to do with the degree of illumination from outside sources?

That or maybe there's the possibilty you are not yet opening the door at times. Lighting and delays of such are dependent on many variables. You mentioned all but the door being open or shut when it reacts which way.
