Toxic Smell After an Exhaustion Job!

My 96 Camry started to make booming noise, so I thought something was wrong with the muffler. Goodyear (Gemini) checked the exhaustion system and replaced the faulty exhaustion pipe underneath the chassis. I picked up the car this afternoon and it was very quiet again. But I smellt some toxic odor when driving back home. I couldn't drive without windows open! I went back to the GY store and they told me that it was an odor from sealant they applied to the pipe and the smell would go away soon. Is this normal or did they do a poor job? I'm worried about my health! Thanks.

The only smell I've noticed after a part exhaust repair has been the paint burning off the new muffler or pipe.

I haven't heard of any sealant which would give such a strong odor problem,..but could be. I'd expect all odor to lessen and stop after a couple of days driving.
