EVAP on 94 or older camrys

1994 and older camrys have Non-ECM Controlled EVAP Systems which use solely mechanical means to collect and purge stored fuel vapors. Did anybody experience a driveability issue related to EVAP system on a 94 or older Camry? Did Engine light come on? any codes?
