fuel consumption issues on 2005 Camry

My 2005 Camry, 2.4L, auto, 130K, has (I think) a serious fuel consumption i ssue. I regularly drive 400km or less on a tank of gas. This is about 15lit res / 100km. This is strictly city driving. On the highway its about 10 or

11 km/100l. It seems to operate fine. It doesn't matter whether its summer or winter. The check engine light is not on. I used to drive a 97 Camry and a 95. They got 7 on the highway and 10 in city. Any suggestions?

Geoff in Canada the usage is litres/100km. So first note is correct I am using 15l / 100km. My older cars got 10-11 liters / 100 km in the city.

Just some additional info, perhaps not exactly what you are looking for. We have owned both 2002 and 2007 Camry's, 2.4L. Our experience, in the Boston area, is that there is a large variation in how far you can go before needing to fill up again between summer and winter. Also of course between city and highway. And I try to refill when the fuel gets down to one-quarter of a tank ( 1/4 of 18 gal). Also, worse miles per gallon as the car gets older.

My basic goal is to go notably more than 300 miles per fillup ( 300 X 8 / 5 = 480 km per fillup, if my conversion is correct)
