Height of Suspension

Might have an easier time fitting slightly taller wheels and/or tires than altering suspension geometry. For example the 4 cyl. has 70 series profile aspect ratio tires, you could try going to 75 series, and or from the stock 14" wheel to 15". The six has 65 aspect ratio sidewalls stock, so going to 75 would probably be enough right there. Taller sidewalls will increase flex resulting in softer ride and less precise handling in the corners - could rub fender wells on full lock turns, but probably not. Speedometer will be off. Other route would be to replace springs and struts to increase ride height. That would increase angle of operation in the axles and CV joints, probably increasing wear. If African roads are giving you the ground clearance problem, I'd try the taller tires, first. Here's a tire calculator:

If you've got the 4 cyl. (didn't say otherwise) going from 70 to 75 series would increase the diameter apx. 1", should raise the car apx.

1/2". Going to 15" wheel, would increase diameter apx. 2" or raise the car apx. 1". That might be all the difference you need.
