I recently bought a used 2002 Camry LE with the four cylinder engine and automatic transmission. When driving at about 45-50 mph, if I let off on the gas for a second or two, then step down again (not necessarily hard), I get a brief hesitation, then the power engages with a slight "kick." There is no audible "clunk" when this happens. This occurs only with the air condition on. Any thoughts on what my be causing this? I had the dealer check it and he said the "lash" is normal. I don't know what he is talking about or whether he just doesn't want to look more deeply into the problem.
