Hesitation on 2006 Outback 3.0 VDC wagon

I've noticed a lot of times when I'm getting quite a bit of hesitation in pressing on the accelerator. This happens especially when I slow to take a corner, then push on the gas once past. Sometimes, this hesitation is VERY dramatic, and, I pulled out into a lane with an oncoming car, and...my car just kinda froze there (my life passing in front of me...).

Can this be adjusted, or, is this just the way it is?

Thanks.

Train yourself to be able to demonstrate the problem, then take a service manager or tech for a ride. You're under warranty and this seems very odd.

i had this very same problem with my 05 outback. almost had 2 near collisions when changing lanes and thought i could rely upon the car to accelerate when you pressed on the accelerator. it took 3 trips to the dealer, who said it was normal and there showed "no codes" with their computer analysis. finally, i had it escalated to the service manager who, on a whim, decided to install a new O2 sensor, even though the computer indicated it was functioning properly. replacement of the O2 sensor eliminated the problem.

don't allow them to give you the big "duh?" and don't delay your persistance. the longer you have the car along with the problem the more likely they will question you rather than the car.

Drove one a couple of years ago on a contract route, belonged to someone else, that had similar symptoms. Owner sold it and the new owner found that the catalytic converter was partially plugged. Worth checking. Mechanics should have been shot, fire them and they just move to another dealer.

Our 2005 Outback H6 catalytic converter was replaced between 15-16K with minor hesitation and the check engine light coming on. I'm very happy to report that there have been no other issues at all and she runs as new again.

Since it's not even 2 months old, yet, I HOPE that that's not the problem. Will keep it in mind, though.
