I'm thinking of getting a used Camry to replace our '99, and I'm wondering which Camries have issues, and where. I heard something about the Aisin transmissions being better; is that true? Which Camries still have those?
Of course this question is not limited to just transmissions.

I've had a 94, 97, and now 04 Camry XLE. They've all been the 4-cyl. variety. I like my Camry more than my 04 Avalon.
Every make and model has some sort of problem, but you are better off avoiding the first couple years of a new design until they have most of the bugs worked out. Your 01 Camry was the last year of that design so keep that in mind when shopping for another car.
