P1135 Code

Feb 14, 2006 4 Replies

Hey All, I have CEL with codes P1135,p1133 and P0125. They dont all of them show up all the times but P1135 is constant always. I believe it is the AF ratio sensor that needs to be changed. The confusion I have is of the location. Is this the one that goes on exhaust before the CAT or is this the one that goes under the hood. I have brought the sensor from the dealer but dont want to open the package till I know where it goes so that I can return the thing if I have the wrong sensor.

As always your help and suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks

Why don't you ask the dealer?

If I remember right, it's the one up front behind the radiator, but then my memory ain't what it used to be, and there is a fifty percent chance I am wrong...

The dealer said before the CAT but my mechanic says its the one under the hood. I trust my mechanic but I think in this case he is wrong. The one under the hood is called oxygen sensor and the one before the CAT is called AF ratio sensor even though they are both oxygen sensors with different voltage ranges. This is a 4 cylinder 1999 camry.

Well, and I may be wrong, but I've had the one under the hood of my '03 Camry replaced four times, and they always call it the Air Fuel Ratio sensor. Of course, we are talking about different generations.....and who knows if they have it right -- after all they've replaced it four times

Check out this Web site. If his picture is right, that's a yellow dipstick top poking out on the left side....
