Re: Lose wire on Camry 94 XLE V6 (1MF-FE), pictures attached.

Hrm. Just spent a few minutes looking at my V6 94 XLE, and I got nothing hanging loose. HOWEVER. I had the engine out a few months ago, to replace tranny and power steering pump. I remember thinking, "Hmm... this lead has 2 of the same color wires." -I don't remember if they were Yellow.- "welp, they just go to the power steering pump solenoid, polarity wouldn't matter". I didn't realize, until I went to pull the engine, my radiator cooling fan is hydraulic in nature, and runs off power steering fluid via the PS pump. It's controlled by a solenoid mounted on the pump itself. Cylindrical, 1 1/4 in. in diameter. 2 1/2 in. long. 2 Wires leave the solenoid and 4 inches later end in a female plug that is pegged to a support on the pump. I think your errant connector goes into that. The position and length of the lead in the photo looks about right. And the car would run fine with no symptoms in cool-average weather as the fan would not even be activated till it got hotter..

I found a lose wire that I can't find its other end plug. Tried with >inspection mirror at no avail. > >Does this wire belong to some optional item not installed? > >Thanks for your comments. >

Thanks a ton. Your description fits my suspicions of the fan not functioning properly while car running fine and no Engine Check Light on. I'll try to work on it tomorrow or after.
