Reasonable Price For 2004 Camry LE

I'd like to buy a new 2004 Camry LE automatic. Dealer cost is $17,786 according to the "ConsumerGuide" 2004 New Car Price Guide. With dealers wanting to get rid of the old inventory for the '05's, I'm thinking a price at or a little below cost, considering hidden or open rebates, may be appropriate. Any thoughts on what may be a good bargaining point?

Thanks

Not up on current prices but show up on a rainy day near the end of the month when no other customers are in the dealership and see if you get a better deal....

I bought mine 2 months back for invoice price. Toyota had a $1500 rebate and the dealership was kind of eager to sell some 04's. We went there tduring the latter part of the month - 4th week, I think, 1 hour before closing time on Friday. Even though the dealership closed at 9 PM, our negotiations and the sale went on till 10:00 PM.

I'm not a good bargainer, so I got it only for invoice, but that was before the 05's started hitting the dealerships. I think if dealers still have the 04's in their lots, then you can definitely get it for less than invoice, which is $17,786 or get additional features like leather or upgraded audio for the same or discounted price.

But, if you're buying now, I strongly suggest you cough up some extra dough for the 05 model - for $1000 or so more (with the current $500 rebate by Toyota), you get a 5-speed automatic, ABS and a different grill

  • 1 whole year up on the model, so when you sell later on, you can get more money. Also, I think the dash is slightly changed and might be better-looking on the 05. Just my 2 cents.

If you are dead serious about purchasing a new 2004 Toyota (including Camry) at invoice or a 2005 Toyota (including Camry) at 3% above invoice, email me and I will give you the email of a quick and efficient no haggle salesman. The only stipulations are:

  1. You must take a car that is presently the lot.
  2. You must live outside of Missouri.
  3. You must come to Mid-Missouri to collect the vehicle. You can drive or arrive by Greyhound or Amtrack and get picked up by them in your car!
  4. Trade-ins aren't accepted. Its best for you to just sell it outright.
  5. Tell others if you are happy, cheers!

Oh yes, and that pesky fee for paperwork is just $56. If you need financing and have good credit, the dealership deals with many banks and such. If you want your own bank to finance, is never a problem, they work with you to get bank all information they need. If you quick, you can be in an out in under an hour!

Invoice with freight is $18,301.00, (17.786 + 515) for an 04 LE automatic. As per Kellys Blue Bk & Edmunds. I purchased an 04 LE with no extra options for 17,201.00 drive off price, ( no doc fees. etc.) in June of 04 while Toyota had a 1000.00 cash back rebate, for a total of $1,100.00 below dealers invoice w/freight. I used the Ebay dealer in GA.that was selling them online for 17.201.00 as leverage with my local dealer to match the ebay price. Dealer said he was losing money, but they all seem to still be eating well. :-) Love the car.
