My 2000 Camry LE has a rear speaker that makes no sound. I looked in the trunk and saw that one of the two wires that go down into the speaker is loose and hanging outside the speaker. I don't see any way to fix it without disassembling the rear shelf. Does anyone know a way? If not, is this a repair I can do? If not, any idea how much it will cost?
I've had the car less than 3 years but more than 36k miles, so Toyota and my dealer say there's no warranty coverage for this.

Usually the speaker wire from the receiver (radio) is connected from the bottom. Look a little closer. It is most likely that you knocked the speaker wire from inside your trunk, so you might be able to hook it back up.
But there are also wires internal to the speaker itself that hook the tweeter to the crossover, etc. This may be difficult to repair, but is less likely to be damaged.
For about $150-$200, a place like Best Buy or Circuit City will install 2 new rear speakers, and your sound will dramatically improve. Don't bother with getting a new OEM speaker.
