sunshade camry custom 94

Hey,

The sunshade of my camry custom 94 is stuck or rusted up the litle iron bar or something. I tried WD-40, but didn't succeed, does anybody have an idea?

Greetings,

Tom

Nest step would be to unfasten the sun shade and try again, with it off the car - may give you a better angle to work it loose.

How do you unfasten the sunshade without making damage?

idea?

Haven't had to do this, and can't imagine how your sunshare could be stuck. Mine seems a little loose if anything. The attachment point to the roof is covered with plastic trim, so you would remove the plastic trim first. I guess no one else actually does this, but the factory service manual lists checking the seat mounting bolt torque. I mention this, because they are also covered with plastic trim. Finally decided to tackle this last week. Armed with two flat blade screwdrivers, using one as a lever and the other as a fulcrum, applied so much force the plastic edge bent and deformed but could not be removed. Next I tried sliding the blade under the edge and twisting to push it out, that eventually worked. When it came off, I found the two plastic tabs inside and could see how it attached. For the other plastic trim pieces I used a hook from my "hook and pick" set, and they came off easily by latching the tool under the edge where the tab was located and gently pulling back. Short story: carefully experiment with those plastic covers until you discover how they come off.

Thank you for your advice, I will try it carefully,

Just read somewhere else, that when stuck they usually need to be replaced - oil, etc. doesn't work.

Thought I saw a couple of these on eBay.
