Transmission Question

Hello, Should you switch the gear "D" ( drive ) to "2" or "L" while driving if you are on a steep hilly road to get more thrust or stopping the car and then switching these gears is the normal way to do it?

Thanks.

You mean drive it harder ,, faster like a manuel trans,, BEAT IT , it wont last as long , but its your car,, more rpm more gas + more wear and tear

XXX. the reason they have 2 or low is so you can use more negine braking on steep grades. ALso shifting out of OD will get you soem extra braking doen long grades, need more, go to 2nd, more, go to low. Its not for starting, just slowing on long grades downhill.
