Water pump

Well presure release caps are something like 12 lb 17 lb. water hoses are 30 - 100 but your system is supposed to be opened so no pressure builds ,so pressure should be 5-10. If someone made a mistake before turning on the water then it could blow more than the pump seals. How old is the pump.

Indeed,..if they failed to unseal the system *before* applying the flushing hose and that hose had a higher than normal pressure as far as the pump is concerned, it could happen.

Water-pumps which are driven off an engine's cam-belt are a PIA (especially when the belt is not straight-forward to change). But I guess even Toyota make some mistakes.

Did you pay someone to flush it, its leaking I take it, Bad? It just started? , That old it shouldnt leak, but if it is , well you have to wonder about head gaskets, the radiator, and other areas . Id keep a close eye on oil looking like Choclate milk , and mark coolant level with a pencil on the expansion tank. And carry some extra gallons of water-antifreeze with you. If that was a Payed job consider Small Claims easy to do .

I have a 2000 camry le 4 cyl, with 35,000 miles on it. I took it in for a Coolant flush and since I got my car back it has always smelt hot, but never overheats. Did you notice a smell with yours or was the leak obvious??
