1986 4 RUNNER TEMP GAUGE

Dec 11, 2003 2 Replies

I OWN A 1986 TOYOTA 4 RUNNER AND I JUST REPLACED THE TEMPERATURE CONTROL PANEL. I UNPLUGED THE GAUGE CLUSTER PANEL WHEN I DID THIS. WHEN I PUT IT ALL BACK TOGETHER AND WENT TO START IT UP, I NOTICED THAT ONCE I TURNED I TURNED THE IGNITION ON THE TEMP GAUGE NEEDLE WENT HALFWAY UP AND I HADN'T EVEN TURNED THE TRUCK ON. DOES ANYBODT KNOW WHAT MIGHT HAVE HAPPENED. HUCK

Uh, the engien was still warm?

This was 12 hours after I put everything back. I turn the key on and the temperature gauge goes to warm. Once the engine is warm the gauge is in the red and it is not overheated.
