2000 Tundra - muti check engine lights

Mar 17, 2006 2 Replies

Have a 2000 Tundra V-8 that I purchased as a lease return about 2.5 years ago, currently with 114,000 miles.

A few months back the check engine light came on ...took to local shop and they replaced the O2 sensors and did major tune up.

A few days later ... light back on . .. . same shop told me needed to change charcol sensor. Took to dealer this time...they said it needed something different (at moment forgotten what it was) and they fixed it.

Then day or so later light back on...dealer said brake booster needed replacing. Which I am about to do.

Anyone else had these types of problems?

I am pretty sure there are 4 O2 sensors and I would have them checked.

My 2000 Tundra went through at six O2 sensors between 35,000 and

60,000, 4 of them within a week of each other. The dealer told me that Toyota had extended the warranty for O2 sensors to 90,000 and fixed them for free. I haven't had any problems since.
