22r carb glitch

i'm knterested also, my brother's truck does exactly the same damn thing, through two carbs now , before and after rebuiling both of them. I suspect seriously leaking bushings on the throttle plate butterfly, any one ?

Check the output of your fuel pump. Sounds like it's not kicking out the wright amount of fuel. Good Luck.

One way to check this is to put some silicone sealant on the ends of the butterfly shaft and see if it makes a difference. You can't leave it in place as it can cause the throttle to stick once it sets up.

There's a small diaphragm on the driver's side of the carb towards the front (can't remember the name for it in the Haynes manual). I rebuilt my carb and had the same problem. After pulling this diaphragm out I noticed the rebuild kit I got (or something in my fuel line) had/made a hole in the diaphragm, so when that kicked in on revving up when the engine was warm it would suck gas into the vacuum lines. Might want to check that one. I've replaced two of those diaphragms so far.
