4Runner heat problem solved

Hi Few week ago I posted my problem with heat emanating from what felt like under the center column of my 93 4Runner. The heat was coming up from where the seat belt is bolted... a few of you also were familiar with this problem with older 4Runners well whoever said it was probably the trans, you were 100% correct... recently my radiator need replacement. I put in a radiator w/ trans cooler built in... no more annoying hot fumes coming up! Even the plastic housing is cool to the touch... I'm not sure why it needed a trans cooler all of a sudden... the engine is pretty old, older engines run hotter? Doesnt the engine coolant help cool the trans?? Perhaps it was just the new radiator and engine flush? I guess extra cooling is always better than not enough. John
