Changing power steering belt

2002 Tacoma: If trucks are anything like houses, the simplest things always have a "gotcha". I have a nasty squeal from the PS belt. If I spray a little water on it, the noise stops for awhile. I've done belts before, but it's winter, so I figure I have a limited time to dick around with it before my hands get numb. Anything unusual to watch for when changing this belt? My mechanic's already checked and adjusted the tension.

And: Is it worth driving a half hour to get a genuine Toyota belt, or are the brands (Kelly Springfield, Gatorback) from AutoZone equally good?

Hmm. That's interesting. And free. What did he clean the belts with? Alcohol?

isn't worn, you can dress. I'd NOT suggest dressing a worn or cracked belt.

As it turns out, I don't have the right kinds of wrenches to do the job. Gonna let Toyota deal with it. If it still squeaks afterward, then it's the pump itself, which is still under warranty.

Never mind. Took it to the dealer, told them about the noise. Budgeted $85 for labor plus belt price. They did it for free.
