Fuel Leaking Problem

I need some advice on what is that Black Canister in the engine compartment on the passenger side up against the Cab firewall. Mine is leaking fuel out the bottom and I can't ID what it is or how it works in order to test it. Anyone got any ideas. Is there another piece. All I see is one fuel line in the top, One vacuum line in the top and a drain out the botom. Please help....

It's probably the evap canister which is designed to accumulate vapors from fuel tank and expend them into intake manifold. The canister will accumulate raw gas if fuel tank is continuously filled too high, commonly called "topping off". Only fill until pump's automatic fill nozzle kicks off or only one more click while filling slow, any more will overflow into canister. If this is your problem you might be able to stop topping off and the fuel may evaporate out of canister on it's own. Some canisters are ruined when this happens, I'd try the first suggestion and see if it heals itself. HTH, davidj92

It's a charcoal filter that scrubs gas that is on its way back to the gas tank. You can replace this part, it's called a charcoal cannister.

Yours is full of dirt or water. In any case, it can be replaced.
