Engine cranks. Occasionally starts but idles very rough at very low rpm. The truck didnt have any preceeding symptoms beore suddenly quitting.

Tested fuel supply by taking the line off the rail, and there was good fuel pressure

New parts: Battery Distributor cap/rotor Ignition cables Igniter Coil.

any ideas?

What engine ? How many miles on it ? You stated above no syptoms before suddenly quitting, did it quit while driving ? Could you provide some more info on when it quit ?

V6, 260,000km It quit while driving very slowly, in 4wd, on a back road. It suddenly stalled out as I started up a steep grade

Is it possible the timing belt jumped time ? Has the timing belt ever been replaced ? Did it run OK before it quit ?

A steep grade, low on fuel at the time? Sucked up a wad of s*it from the bottom of the fuel tank?

My IDEA is: A failing Mass Air Meter caused me to have similar symptoms. A related SUGGESTION: Since a MAS is $pendy, pick one up at a upullit-type yard. 22RE-type MAS are fairly common; 3VZ-E are rare, however some other Toy plaques use the same module, different ducting. Take your FSM specs and a cheap multimeter - seems like mine was from a

4cyl, 16valve, trans-engine, might-be-a-corolla... Oh yeah, no codes, but when I unplugged the MAS, it at least started! I tried a $pendy igniter, too. The TPS, was to be the next suspect...
