how do you get rid of the luxury shifting in a toyota tacoma '01? i saw a website with a mod that you can do, but it's currently not available. anyone have any ideas?

look into a good quality shift kit. Upside is more distinct shifts in the auto tranny, thus eliminating internal clutch slippage and premature wear (common with overly smooth shifting trannies). Downside is that it is a stiffer shift.
I have installed them on trucks before, and saw a minor increase in mileage, but more importantly, slightly lower tranny temps.
