The actual mileage is always lower, consistently off by 2 mph. I called this a feel-good meter.
Do you have a same problem?

Ha - I pulled the battery cable to install the OEM alarm -- when I hooked it back up I was getting 26 MPG for the next week! It dropped back to the range it normally reads after about a week. It seems to read the average from when you last disconnected the battery and seems unaffected by resetting the trips on refill.
