Need something to fill gap between cab and shell

My 2000 Tundra has a shell on the bed and the seal isn't very good between the two becaused of the raised cargo/brake light. I'd like to fill the top of the gap that's 2"-3" wide between the back of the cab and the front of the shell.

My camper used to have an inflatalbe boot like a big donut that went around the rear window, between the back of the cab and the front of the camper but evidently they aren't made anymore. Any ideas?

If you can find an inner tube that it the right size, it would probably work. It may not be pretty, but it should get the job done....

My shell has a rubber strip around the hole that connects the back window to the bed. One problem with the rubber, all the paint is now gone where the rubber touches the back of the cab. If I remove the shell, I will need to repaint.(not like it could not use it anyway, but still)

Thanks, I'll give it a try. I was thinking of wedging some sort of soft rubbe hose in the gap. Well, whatever works.

try masking the area off with stickybacked masking paper then use some rubber edging material to act as a dam/form. Get some expanding crack filer foam from Home Depot. From the inside of the passthrough spray fill the gapped area. Remove dam/form and cover the foam with a paintable caulk, pant the sucker. I did that on my 88 toyota and it worked like a charm. Did n't have any type of storebought boot just the foam and some caulk and it never leaked. On the inside I used some glued in velcro strips to hold a vinyl valence panel around the opening where my rear windoe used to be. Eventually , to make it easier to crawl through from cab to camper shell, I cut the bottom edge of the rear window fram down about 6 inches for the width of the rear seat between the headrests. Was a great truck for camping after that. Hope that helps. Oh, if you do this , make sure you have rags and acetone on hand cuase the foam invariably gets places where it is unwanted. MLM

my understanding from all these threads is that you desire to seal off the pass thru window from your bed topper. Given that the topper is somewhat less in value, anchor in L brackets around the window opening. Then use 1/8" stainless line inside 3" neopreme tubing insulation to secure it to the shell. You'll have to push the shell into place, but the seal will be good for years. A cheaper alternative is to fix the neopreme ( I'm talking about the stuff used to insulate air/heat lines in residential construction) with construction adhesive to the shell. The adhesive can be removed, it just takes some acetone and a couple of buffer wheels

That's not it. I'm not looking to make a boot to go from the back window of the cab to the shell. I'm looking to fill the gap between the back of the cab and the front of the shell at the top of them.
