Automax is offering me 17,000. The blue book shows 19K wholesale, 24K retail. does anyone know what I should be getting for it? No dents, great condition inside and out.

I just bought a 2001 Sequoia Limited and only paid 18,500
I'd look at the "Private Sale" section of the KBB.
Thanks, what is KBB?
crew KBB ... for actual prices paid, look at and have Edmunds 'price' the vehicle.

Edmunds and KBB and NADA are all competing services in the same market space. To get the most accurate estimation of the value, one should check all three. I find that KBB is the easiest to use, and allows me to plug in each of the possible options that the car might have. Edmunds and NADA don't have as much flexibility to input options as KBB has.
My point is, "screw KBB," is very myoptic.
KBB is set up to allow dealers to claim a higher valuation than really exists.
The others base on sales, not smoke.
Sorry to hear about your 'tic'.
