what used camper shell might fit my 92 Xcab 4wd truck?

That's the whole question...how do I know which used shell might fit? Must it be a custom fit, or is it just a tape measure thing?

Both of my foglights are out on my '99 4 Runner. After checking to make sure the bulbs were good I figured the relay was shot. I called my Toy dealer and they want $57!!!!! for a stinkin' 20 amp relay? Am I missing something here?

Try popping it open and cleaning the contacts - if the case is snapped closed, you can pry the snaps and remove the cover, a little crocus cloth and it'll be good to go for a little longer. If the case is glued or welded closed, stop, more trouble than it's worth.

Or go to a good auto parts (one that services local mechanics and truck repair places), plop that little cube relay on the counter, and see if they can find a generic replacement.

If it's the standard 'little black cube' style, dozens of companies make them (even Botched^w Bosch), and if the pinouts, contact type and voltages match they're pretty much interchangeable. You just have to suss out the contact type, coil voltage, whether it has a back-EMF suppression device across the coil, etc - and all those details are included on the little pictogram on the bottom or side of the relay.

The only thing the relay doesn't list is 'intermittent' or 'continuous' duty cycle on the coil, but the only 'intermittent duty' relays you are likely to run into on a car are starter solenoids. And that can be sussed out by looking at the application - the fog lights are liable to be on for hours at a time, so are continuous duty.

Much good info deleted for brevity's sake...

Thanks so much for the common and uncommon-sense advice...I love this place...
