Hello NG! I found out that one of my rear axle bearing on my 1303 is in very bad shape. My local VW dealer want a lot of money for these bearings. Is it possible to use standard industrial roller bearings? What size or standardnumber do i need? Bye from Denmark.... Michael
Yes, they are standard industrial type and sizes. It hass been too long since I bought them from our bearing supplier that I no longer have the metric numbers at hand.

You will need new grease seals and some gaskets/O-rings as well.
The roller bearing rarely fails; most commonly, the inner ball bearing fails.
