CIP 1 BRMs VS Flat 4

I see that California Import Parts is now selling a BRM replica also. It appears they have them available in 4.5" and 5.5" wide, but they mount differently than the Flat-4 style. (As I understand it the Flat 4's require you to have your drums "studded" and use acorn nuts) Where the CIP ones use acorn lugbolts. Is this correct?

Has anyone been able to do a direct comparison? I was thinking of running the 4.5's from CIP in the front and the Flat 4 6.5J's in the rear and I was wondering if there are enough differences to make this difference stand out. I was also wondering about the quality of the CIP rims. I haven't yet seen or heard about them other than in the CIP ads.

Thanks,

Jay

I have not compared them yet, but my buddy just recently got a set for a 67' that he's doing cal-look. he ordered the Flat 4's and got 5 of them becuase he thought the same thing, in case he ever got a flat (could not get a straight answer from the girl on the phone when he ordered). He later called them again and found out he could just get some special lugbolts from them instead of the studs. I'm sure that the centercaps will be different because they say flat 4 on them IIRC but not sure how different they will look next to each other.
