compression question

During the tune-up of my 67 Bus, the compression test came up with 140, 140,

135, and 130. The Idiot's Guide said it should be at least 100, but is 140 too high?

Also, my engine number starts with AH and is followed by six digits. When I looked it up, that's not even a type 2 engine? Anyone have any ideas?

130 to 140 could be considered normal.

AH was a '73/74 Beetle 1600cc engine, from Calif. IIRC.

The compression should be (according to Bentley manual) from 107 to 142 psi. Those figures you measured sounds ok to me.
